Check engine light

95 Si, I remember hearing about a way to find out what code the car is throwing but don't remember how to check can anyone refresh my memory please?

Next to the gas pedal, behind the cd/tape player unit, there are 2 purple connectors. One with 3 ports and one with 2 ports. They might be plugged into another blank connector, so just unplug the one with 2 ports or 2 holes whatever you want to call it (you'll see what I'm talking about). After you get the connector with the two holes, take a paper clip and jump those two ports together (take one end of the paper clip, plug it into one hole and plug the other end into the other hole). Then you will be able to see the flashing check engine light. One long flash = 10, two short flashes = 1. For example, long flash, long flash, short flash, short flash, short flash, = 23. Go on google or something and type in Honda Check Engine code...(whatever number came up) then thats would be your issue. PM me if you have any questions.
