Cheap-o Master Cylinder Brace

I've been searching for a master cylinder brace for some time now, but haven't been able to find an affordable one for my car. So in a brilliant stroke of creativity I stole a design that one of my friends had built for his car.

As you can probably already tell, it's a bracket from an ebay tower bar with a 1" square piece of steel stock wlded in. The bottom bit is an M12 bolt with two crimp nuts and a washer welded in place. It's cheap and it's ugly, but it works great! Best of all, the total cost of parts was no more than $35.

The brace:

The original design is something my good friend and fellow Time Trial driver Andy Yoon put together for his Miata. It trounces mine on convenience, simplicity, and originality. Too bad it wouldn't work on a Prelude.

Here's what his looks like

I don't understand why you need one.

Yep. Specifically because the firewall flexes when you stomp on the brakes, which contributes to pedal travel. You might not notice it much on the street, but when you're on a track and you're constantly standing on the brakes it makes a world of a difference.

I've seen track only preludes...they don't have a brace...

But whatever floats your boat.
