Changing Valve Cover Gaskets Write-up

Well for all of you who want to know how to do this it is quite simple We are going to start off with the valve cover off. it is pretty self explainatory 5 nuts and the bolt that covers the wire that runs over the cover.:
First remove all the old gaskets and clean the undercover if you want. I did. but in any case you definitly want to clean where the old gaskets were.

(Thats my girls hands...she is always willing to help out )

Next get out your new gaskets and some silicone sealant and put a thin layer on the bottom and insert the gaskets into the cover. It will look like this:

Then once that is completed put a thin layer of the gasket material on the seals again and put it back on the head:

Next put a generous layer of gasket material on these pieces and put them back on the valve cover.

When going to tighten down the valve cover bolts make sure you old tighten them down to slighty wrench tight or for those using a torque wrench, no more then ~15ft-lbs. I accidently tightened my middle one too much and i broke the stud. So i hope it doesn't cause any problems...Plug back in your spark plugs and all your hoses and your good to go.

Oh we've got a funny guy here. If I didn't like your car so much, I'd say something rude.

I've had my valve cover off tons of times too, I use the same method, works great, no leaks. So that means the oil has to find somewhere else to leak out of. (which it does )
