just mating the transmission back to the engine alone took me 2 hrs and I had 2 other people helping. No transmission jack or car lift, just some jack stands....Better have at least a whole day put away for this job (if it's your first time).
Dont stress on it too much. Preparation is the key. Get a Helms manual and read over the procedure MANY times to get it burned into your head. Then gather the tools you'll need, set aside a day (a complete day so that you have plenty of time if you run into a problem) to do the job with at least 1 friend.

They pop up on Ebay every once in a while. But they are definetly worth the full price new. I've saved a few hundred dollars at least, by doing my own work instead of taking it to a shop.

thank guys for the help, i purchased the helm manual... but will soon purchasing the clutch and flywheel that i want... anyone know what kind of clutch and lightweight flywheel be the best on a h22a1 daily driver but got performance when i need it
comon guys, i dont see how you can recommend a person to just go out and buy a helm manual and then do their own clutch job. there is ALOT to do, and even more to mess up on. this isnt undoing some bolts and you're done. suspension pieces are going to be a big pain, especially if they are rusted and untouched in quite some time, which i imagine is true. Ever removed your axle? any idea how to pop out a ball joint? some of the tranny casing bolts are in such hard to reach places, you need an ratchet, pivot, and like 3 extensions just to get to them. you need a torque wrench, 12point sockets for the flywheel, etc. probly a breaker bar, and an impact gun for the axle nut. Alot of unexpected things will pop up that u have no idea on, something like which way the throwout bearing goes or forgetting the speed sensor, etc.
its not a fun process, and id say if you have someone who knows what they are doing, by all means go ahead and do this. you will learn a ton. they can help for the small i dont know's you run into. if you try it anyways, i guess ill be looking for your posts here on po.com for help!
