i can't say for sure until the prototypes are done but with 2 molds and 2 panels it will probably be around $350-400. Consider a budget race plates CF plug that isn't even functional sells for $350 I think it's a fair price for the amount of work I'm putting into this. We'll see how it pans out when I'm done.
As you can see all the excess holes have been covered
Actually, I cant see how they have been covered. Is the sheen on the panel from some type of tape thats been laid over the holes? Also, is that thin white sheet going to be used in the mold lay-up? I'm assuming it's used so that the flex in it matches the curves of the sunroof?

Yeah in some places it's a type of tape, any fine lines get wetsanded out of the mold after. In the center triangles we've used automotive molding clay to fill in the gap from the frame and the top piece, as the gelcoat would get stuck under there. Also nw this way there will be nice smooth CF triangles in the center.
The white sheet is curved to match the curvature of the roof and will be joined at the lip with automotive clay. This ensures a smooth transition and flange to lay the carbon fiber across. And it ensures vacuum bagging is easy. If you didn't build a nice flange under vacuum the fabric will wrap around the edge of the roof and pull up from the inside leaving air voids, which suck.

They will look mostly the same the problem is I just need a new mold...the first one was poorly made and I could never get a good product. Any of the original ones suck, I won't ship them.

I am definately putting some money aside too, the roof cancer has been a thorn in my side for a while now. I actually filled one of the worse holes with silicone so it didn't start leaking. Please keep us posted.
