what companies make them for 4th gens? I duno about VIS =\ i have seen vis hoods for other cars and i just dont like how it looks UNDER the hood... or is that how all CF hoods look like?
VIS is a very good company. All cf hoods look like that underneath, VIS makes one of the sturdiest frames. Other good companies are, Sunny Styling, Fiber Images, and if you can find one (heh, good luck), Spoon

which do you have? i know myself, hien, and slp mode have VIS
VIS has a couple grades. there is Grade A, which is a CF hood, with a fiberglass structures, and rounded edges, there is Grade A+ which has part of it in C/F. Grade A++ or Double A, is C/F all around, they tend to be more expensive...

My hood was litterally made in some dudes backyard and I bought it from him on E-bay... I got REALLY lucky. It's one of the best fitting hoods I've seen, but there area some problems with it. It's a risk everytime I put the hood support in it because that area wasn't reinforced at all. That and I need hood pins because above 80 it bends REALLY bad. But, for 200$ I got a really good hood.

Originally posted by sik96prelude I have the FI hood and it is so nice, it has CF under the hood and fitment is absolutly perfect. Had it for a while now and still looks flawless.
Yeah too bad about the rest of your lude. ha ha J/k what's up my bish???
Originally posted by ViZ the vis hood looks good but it is the heaviest i would go with fiber images good quality and fairly light
i would like to say that mine is about 12 pounds, if that is heavy like my stock hood, i dont' think i care. but me and my co-worker carried my hood roughly 5 blocks to get the hood onto my car, and it wans't hard, just bulky

Originally posted by rybred DEFINETLY..check out Gemini CF hoods...they are awesome quality...they are out of Vancouver,BC..and they are making a name for them selves...
they have CF with colored kevlar, if you're into that...but they have real nice fittment, design, and weave...check them out.
Can you send me their contact information, I'm interested in getting one of those hoods.
Also, does the carbon fiber weave wrap around under, like VIS?

He's a sponsor of the Vancouver Prelude Club...they're really nice guys and their work is awesome...from up close...the hoods and everything they make is so dam perfect!
I'm am fairly happy with my vis, and it is a ton lighter than my stock hood, that's what I bought it for, I also like the reinforced latch, I did a 140 sprint on a empty freeway at the butt crack of dawn, and it stayed solid.
However the fitment now that I've played with it for a while could be better, I mean the lines are straight but the down sloping curve of the hood doesn't exactly fit the down slope of the fenders, but I also know that it wasn't made at the honda dealer also,so I kind of expected some difference.
