Okay I am considering purchasing a CF hood for my 1994 honda Prelude. This is meant in no offense to anyone that has hood pins on their CF hood, but I think its butt ugly. What are my options?? I understand the dangers of the hood flying open at high speeds becauase of the light weight. What can I do? I will just NOT get the CF hood at all if I cannot be 100% confident that the hood will not fly up at high speeds without some hood pins. I have heard of people putting in additonal latches etc. I don't mind it being a little bit of a pain in the ass to get the hood open, I just want it secure.
i have known people to lose there cf hood because it wasnt pinned, they even said that they shake a little but overtime the latch area can weaken and thats how they break maybe get the lockable ones with a black ring and even spray the rest black so you can't really notice them =\
YOu can have that opinion, but we'll see what you say after your hood does fly off and shatter your windshield... many of us here know somebody it's happened to.

I don't like hood pins a whole lot, but once I got to 90mph+ and saw how the hood had a lot of play in it, I bought a pair. I don't mind them as much now that I have them, but I would rather not.
You could build something with pneumatic cylinders that latches the corners down... that wouldn't take too much work, of course you would have to have an air source... a small electric motor that turns a small compressor... tankless the compressor could run straight into the cylinders to lock it in place and then just open a valve to release it.. That would be a pretty trick setup....
Oh yeah have I mentioned that Im a hydraulic mechanic and the company I wqork for has a ton of small pneumatic cylinders and a machine shop that I can use

It's wierd... I think hatches look good w/o them, but Ludes look retarded w/o them, IMO.
