CF Hood in SoCali... please read if you are in SoCal.
Well, as some of you know from reading my post from a couple of days ago... my Lude has been wrecked in the front. I am paying my bodyshop guy to repair my entire front, but my hood is a little scared. So here is what I am looking for.
If any of you SoCali people have any hookups for Carbon Fiber hoods, then I was wondering if you could help me out. I want to get this hood put on before Lude Fest West 2002, or as soon as possible. I know that FiberImages is in Palmdale, and they make good hoods so they are currently my best bet for a hood without paying for shipping.
Please help me out fellow luders... I will post pictures of my front before and after the bodywork as soon as I can so you can see what a big chrome trailer hitch can do to us.
I might be able to get you a hood....It's fits exactly like a VIS OEM hood. The quality is as good. It comes with the latch, holes for the squirters and the carbon fiber wraps completly around the edges. I might be able to get one for about $350. Brand new. Let me know if you are interested.

Lude Fest West 2002 is going to be a huge Northern California and Southern California meet held in San Louis Obispo May 25+26th.
I emailed a guy at Image'n'Stlyez in Whittier and he said he could get me an OE style carbon hood for $340... but Im not so sure of the quality. I would be interested in the VIS hood, but I dont want holes for the water squirters, I never use them anyway. Thanks alot guys.
there's a place called Chapman Automotive in Cypress that sells carbon fiber hoods for around $350. I don't have their phone # but I'll let you know as soon as I can get a hold of my friend that has their phone #.

I emailed FiberImages last year about buying a hood, and asked where they were in So Cal so I could pick it up instead of having it shipped... they told me they were in Palmdale. So, I dont know exactly where they are in Palmdale, but they are there I guess...

Ya, hook us up with an address or something. Usually if we've never seen it then it never existed . But that seems like the best way to buy one, because if it is crappy quality then you can say,"I don't want that $hit!". and choose another one. Keep us updated.

Thats the guy that I bought my new front bumper from....after taking 3 months to get to me, it was 3 inches too big on both sides of the car and the bodyshop said it was the worst quality bumper they had ever seen. Bottom line...it didn't fit the car.

Ok, so I guess I will scratch him off of my list. I talked to FiberImages today and they told me $600. Damn.
If it is possible to get them without the holes for the squiters then I will buy it. Does anyone have pictures of the VIS hood? Thanks alot, you are doing me a huge favor... and I live in Long Beach most of the time (I live in the dorms at CSULB) so I would be able to pick it up without a hassle.
Yeah, Im not jealous of Wisconsin either... mugen is way too expensive anyways. I take California anyday, I will never leave Cali, not unless someone pays me millions of dollars.
