Has anybody swapped the center consoles before? mine is the big bulky long piece that runs from the back all the way to my e-brake. is it possible to swap that with the other one.
this is like the one i have in my car right now. (well actually i just took it out)
this is like the one i want to put in its place.
i havn't gotten down to trying out anything yet but i'm pretty sure that the new one won't fit around the e-brake just right. is it possible to move the e-brake slightly closer to the driver side in order to make it fit like this pic?
thanks but thats the wrong one. i thought that was the 93 console? anyway i need the other one without the mirror button and where the cut out for the e brake is in the center.

You posted a picture of the 94-96 console then you say that's not what you want?

Well the 92-93 had 2 different, 1 is the more common with the 4 switch slots and the ashtray at the end where I believe his is the longer version that connects to the rear center divider and has an armrest on top and no switch holes.
It might be, I just always see pics like the one I have, no center armrest and it doesn't connect with the rear seats, but from his topic he made it sound like he wanted the post face lift style.
92's were the only year of the sex blocker and locked compartment.
In the U.S. They only had the plain pocket for change or a flip up arm rest with a tiny pouch for change underneath.
In other markets, there was a plate where 4 long switches could go in place as well as a long pouch for change next to it.
93 was the only year of the stub console. It had an ash tray in the back and had an option for a spring loaded cupholder and compartment to be laid on top of it.
There was a leather seat divider in the rear to replace the sex blocker.
Both years had the ebrake in the center.
94-96 well, that's the obvious change with the working cup holder and offset e-brake.
Honestly, I never knew the "stub console," as you call it, and the overlay with Cup Holders came in the USDM. All I ever saw was the Rear Seat Divider Style Console.. But they style did have the option for the Multi-Disc Changer though.. I guess one good thing.. Heh

yea i guess i thought i could find one that fit my e-brake but also had an armrest. this is what i ended up with...
still looking for something better if there is something out there like what i described.

Holy armor all!
92's had the 6 disc changer inside the box while 93 and up had it in the trunk.

I don't know what you mean looking for something better. I think your options have been explained pretty well.
