I have the same problem, and I've learned to live with it. It is more common in the winter because the cold makes the parts smaller, so there is more movement (thermal expansion). I'm still working on this problem. Ever since my car got rear ended, my pillar has been rattling like crazy at idle.

It's just cheap plastic. Hopefully the body shop will be able to fix this for me.

Is your right leg leaning on your center console?

i ask that cause when I drive mine does..and by pressing on it it makes that creaking sound...I try to keep my leg straight and it doesn`t happen any more...just a thought

I just pulled off the console and put some rubber weatherstripping where the two plastic parts met. Seemed to get rid of the sound. Still have a lot of other squeaks though.

All the creaks amplify during winter. It is driving crazy with no stereo. Try dynamatting some parts. Not a whole lot, just little squares.

rattle and creak

hey fellas,
I had a few rattle problems last summer, tightened everything (on my '94 Si) still didn't fix the prob. What I had overlooked were two little screws covered on the main console, which you can only see when the doors are open. you pop off a little cover and there they are. They had almost backed all the way out... after I tightened them, problem solved... no more rattle. As for the creaking.. you guys are right on the money... winter time.. cheap plastic dash. Good luck!
