CEL and Odometer

Hey guys, first post here. Just bought a 95 Prelude S 5 speed, I've tried pulling the CEL code using a paper clip but the CEL would not flash. Anyone know why this might be? I know I was using the right connector. The car had been sitting for 2 years previously and a lot of the wires have been duct taped together.
Also, the speedometer/tachometer works just fine but the odometer won't move at all. I've tried resetting the trip meter to see if it kicked it in but had no success. Anyone know how to get this fixed? Thanks for all your help!

as far as the cel goes, does the light come on at all when u start the car? mine wasn't, and it wound up being that the previous owner pulled the bulb out. could be a blown bulb also...

Yeah the light does come on when I start the car. When I had the connector jumped and turned the key to the On position the CEL came up and went off like normal. It comes on usually after driving on the freeway or higher speeds.

try turning it up one more position (without starting the car). that should work for ya.

edit: unless that's already the last position before starting the car- i can't remember if it's ON or II or whatever...

Yeah, that's the position I had it to. One more click and it would turn the car on...

i would check to make sure ur jumper wire is in there securely (it's a 2p blue connnector). iirc the cel is supposed to stay on when jumped if there's no codes stored. u also could just be getting a code 1 or 10 depending if it repeats, and the length of the flash...
