Cat or NO Cat???

I have an OBD-I VTEC, and I am going to do custom aluminzed piping(2.25") into a stainless universal muffler. Should I get rid of the cat??? I am not concerned with emissions or sound, as it is pretty much just a weekend racecar for me!

My mechanic has suggested that I don't, but I wanted to see what some other thought about it!!!

Instead of paying for the city to pick up your trash, just burn it...

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to get rid of it. If there's any problems, I'll put one on!!!
