Cat. Flange difference on S, Si, & VTEC..

I have an F22... stop laughing.... Back when I was shopping for my exhaust I remember reading that the flanges on the 4thgens where different from the Cat. I'm about to buy a test pipe that has an H22 inlet & an H23 outlet... from what I can remember... I think the inlet side for all the 4thgens are the same. BUT the outlet side is different.... I think the H23 & the F22 share the same outlet... but the VTEC outlet is different. Can some one please confirm that the inlet for all 3 models is the same.... but the outlet is only the same for the S & Si, but is different on the VTEC model.

If this holds true (which I hope it does) this means that I can buy this test pipe that has the h22 inlet (which doens't matter cuz they are all the same) with an Si H23 outlet (which would match mine, if the first paragraph above is correct).

anyone?

thanks!

Ceasar

i believe that is right... the header flange is the same on both models.. the VTEC model has a 2 bolt cat flange and the Si has a 3 bolt cat flange..

I know for sure that the downpipe side is the same on H23 and H22.

I know for sure that the exhaust side of the cat on the H23 and H22 are different.

& I think I know for sure that the exh. side of the cat. on the H23 & F22 are the same ... making the H22 different from both H23 & F22 from the exh. side.

Anyone else?? need more insight on this Ppplleeaaasssseeee.

well a buddy of mine just wrote me & told me that he was able to bolt on his H22 header to his H23 cat with no problems... everything matched up.... SO considering that you 'red92s' where able to bolt the H22 header to the F22 cat.... means that All 3 models have the same bolt pattern on the Header side.

Now I just have to find out if the bolt pattern (on the exhaust side) is the same for the F22 & the H23 ... or different. As soon as we can figure this out... this post can be used as a resource for flange patterns, for the 4thgen ludes.

SO Here's what we know

4thgen Cat.'s

Header side = same for S, Si, & VTEC
Exhaust side = same for ?, ?, ?
