cat-converter during my friends swap????

my friend is in the swap of doing his h22 in his 93 si.

he has a header for his h22

i know he is getting a catback exhaust so the only question i have is will the cat-converter off the si exhaust system hook to the header of the h22

do NOT order one from honda, you'll pay over 400 bucks for it. Random ones are about 210, you won't see nay performance gains though, I'd just get the cheapest one that will fit.

only reason it won't fit is the flanges have diff bolt holes. If he has a 93 I'de be looking to swap that old cat anyway.

Cantdrive is right you don't see any gains from a random or any high flow cats unless your going FI. Besides that they are not worth the extra $$$..and on some cars you lose HP
an aftermarket bolt on will run you between $100-$150

NOn bolt on will be $60-$100 but you gotta have a shop weld the flanges on

Try to find a stock JDM cat as they are smaller than USDM cats and work more like an aftermarket version. I was going to have a high flow cat fitted a while ago, but the guy where I dyno my car said not to bother as the JDM cats are not too restrictive anyway.

They say the testpipe will fit all 92-96 Preludes... thats a load of crap, the S, Si and VTEC all have different flanges on the cat!

You have an Si right? Were the bolt holes slotted? Like for multiple sized bolt pattern.

yer, different flanges on the cat. i was tryn to buy a greddy PE for my 96 Si, it is only made for V-tecs. The guys at the shop said i needed to do some adjustments like drilling bigger holes. I just went with Tanabe RM. awesome exhoust. lound on low RPMs and quite at high rpms, just what i was looking for.
