carbon hood - Honda Prelude Forum

Looking for a good carbon fiber hood. I'm thinking of going with Seibon. Currently have a Fiber Images but I'm dissapointed. Fitment is'nt that great and the clear is almost gone.

i'm really surprised you are having issues with a fiber images one. Supposedly one of the better hoods.

The seibon hood I was about to buy looked really good.

^^^I'm suprised also because I have a Fiber Images hood on my 5th gen and it looks/fits fantastic. Not only that but it's much lighter than a VIS hood for a 5th gen from talking to people who has the VIS.

Yah I think I got a knock off. The shop was on the fiber images distibuter list, and a friend of mine had one on his 5th gen so that's why i wanted one. The guy at the shop said their was 2 types of finishes, a show which had a decorative clear, and one with the regular automotive clear. I said, and paid for the auto clear, but I think I got ripped. It has the official badge under the hood, but it has kinda sloppy overspray on it. Not good finish work which had me suspect from the get go. Anyways from what I've seen from Seibon in pictures, they look good with fit and finish, I'm just curious about longevity.
