I've never been a fan of carbon fiber on daily driving cars...but if by having a CF Hood and Trunk u lighten ur car 50-100 lbs. and you race often then I think it's a great idea.

Hmmm. CF hoods/CF trunks/CF fenders/CF bumpers. What's next?...CF rims?

How much weight does all of that save?

cf trunks are raw, i mean honestly if you wanted them for the pure racing factor you could always paint them

you gotta match that with CF Spoiler, is a CF Trunk going to be strong enough to hold a spoiler during high speed racing? Dont wanna see a the whole trunk tearing off...

i havent seen that before, but i really actually like it! it looks pretty sweet, i wonder how functional it is. is it easier to break into? does it rattle more with subs because of fitment issues? well at least it looks cool

If you actually have a spoiler that creates downforce and you cruise at about 200mph a lot it could be an issue.

A spoiler would be pointless on a fwd car.

unless its 100% carbon fiber and weighs like 3lbs I dont like them. I think this CF craze is getting outta hand and its losing its functionality.

FWD cars are already to light in the back... taking the weight off the trunk woudl just further mess up the F/R weight ratio..

BTW I have a picture of some CF rims.... but I have nowhere to host it..

Yaaa Exactly what i was thinking... Try to cut the weight from the front of the car, C/F hood, low weight battery, low weight rims, some headers and intake might also do the trick...this trunk thing is only for show reasons(Looks good BTW ), BUT it serves no useful purpose

some people where worried about strength, from what i hear carbon fiber is 7 times stronger then steel and 7 times lighter as well and carbon kevlar is suppose to be rigid but doesnt deal with flex well...

and if your dragging you car the trunk would help, 50/50 weight ratio doesnt really apply to straight line racing
