car running way to cold

I just got my car back and since it has gotten really cold outside the heat is messing up. I will be driving anywhere and the temp gauge will not even register anything. It only happens when i drive it will heat up fine at idle, but once i start moving the temp gauge drops all the way. Any suggestions?

I dunno, but my temp gauge rarely goes to the middle anymore too. *shrug*

radiator is less than a year old. When the temp is all the way down and i come to a stop my RPM's will start to bounce between 1 and 2 grand. It feels like it's trying to compensate for the temp, by reving the engine.
