Driving normal around town... Car temp went all the way to the last bar. What should I check ? I already checked coolant. Someone said it could be the headgasket. HELP!
Water Pump more than likley if its bad or leaking it should make a very quiet ticking sound, your coolent lvl and or water resivior should be getting lower as its pretty much burning it up and ya may have a slight white smoke which can usually be seen at night with the head lighst on
Dont drive the car around too much if it is overheating but if u must turn your heater on put it at full hot and bl;ast it that takes heat fronm the engine and circulates it to the cabin and should lower your engine temp. That is what i did when my pump went bad

I just had my timing belt and water pump changed 3 weeks ago.... About the white smoke...I actually saw that . What should I do ?
My car overheated in the same driving conditions. It was my thermostat. It was stuck. So I just pulled the thermostat out and everything is normal now.
Well brown or black smoke is usually fuel isn't it? If you smell sort of a syrup smell it is coolant. I was overheating due to a small hole in a small hose. You need to check all of you hoses. If it were to blow alot of white smoke then you would know that was your head gasket for sure.
