Car keyed.... suspects but no evidence... AIM threat messaged saved... but unknown - Honda Prelude Forum

Today, my car was keyed from the passenger side and the driver's side.... WHILE I WAS SLEEPING... EXACTLY WHAT HAPPEN WHEN MY CD PLAYER WAS STOLEN. I believe this is the same person who stole my CD Deck a week ago... I have a suspect because there's a person who has major ground beef with me at school... but I got no evidence..

BUT, on AIM, I receieved a threat that he will screw up my car... and he also confess that he stole my emblems.... but I have no clue if it is the same person. There must be ways to find out who he is... but I called AOL and they said that the police must call them to get information of the person's SN. But what if the e-mail or whatever on it is a joke? What about IP tracking? I really doubt that would help much. They said that if it's an AOL account, they can track them down... but since it's AIM, I have to be lucky to be able to get the correct information.

HERE'S THE THING.

The person on AIM confessed that he stole my emblem...

I know a person who KNOWS who stole the emblems... but he won't tell because he's a hater with the same hater who jacked up my car.

BUT, if I can get the police to get him to tell who stole my emblems... then I know whoever stole my emblem is the same person who threaten me on AIM.... and with the evidence of the conversation I saved, it can give me a winning advantage.

But I just don't know if that'll work. I need the people in this board to help me crack this case... Lets gather our heads guys...

P.S. Video camera won't work, less than 1 hour of recording.

Also... I only have 1 way insurance.... I do not know if they will cover it at all or not..

Anyone know how much it usually cost to repair keyed sides?

how deep are the key marks? mah car got keyed on the passenger side too and the shop said they could buff the whole thing out for like 200 dollars max.... hopefully, the scratches aren't too bad and you can settle for a buffer job instead of getting a whole new paint job

It's keyed pretty bad, you can see the metal.

Can't the body shop just FIX the scratched parts instead of giving it a whole damn new paint job.

i was keyed also and i belive if u HAD fullcovrage and a 500$ deducable u could get a new paint job for 500. but u dont, touch up paint? scratch remover? i dunno i wanna go with a midnight blue paintjob for 500$

well, if the stratch is so deep to the metal... u'll have to sand down the whole car and reprimer it, then repaint it. That's alot of damn work...

sorry to hear about your cars and other cars... i don't see why you guys got so much haters... i never had problems at school, work, other car places, illegals... etc.

well... i dunno... good luck though, don't expect the police to do much, they won't give a damn, this happens too much for them to spend days and days searching for someone that stole a radio and keyed a car.

Take it from your insurance and watch ur insurance go up too.

My friends Integra got keyed recently, they did a really god job, the estimate he got was $6400 to repair everything. Course they also jacked up his fiberglass front end too. But I'm sure yours wont be near that much. And if you want to catch em, you could always just stay awake all night watchen if you could stand it, have a freind with you, it'll be like a sleep over party! good luck man.
