Car died...

Well.. this morning on the way to school, I was on the freeway when everything.. i mean EVERYTHING shut off. no sputtering.. i didn't even know the car was off until i tried to speed up.

I coast over to the side and I noticed the dashboard lights won't turn on, but my emergency lights work. I had to wait 3 hours(Missed school) for a flat bed to come pick me up.

I went to go get the battery tested, and it tested good. I'm about to go get the alternator tested.. even though i just bought it like 2 weeks ago.

Any Ideas? Anyone else ever have this problem?

Thanks

*EDIT* ALSO there is some power, my brake lights work, emergency lights work, and door locks.
Might be the ignition switch? Fuses all checked out ok

i had problems like this ... that what pisses me off so much and making me want to sell my car even more...

well from my experience what it could be is the ingiter in the distributor.. same thing happen to me. if it is not a dead battery cell should be the distributor.. burrow one from your friends or someting and try it out to see if that is the problem.

good luck!

atleast u werent on the way trying to pick up a gurl that didnt even have a cell or new ure cell number by heart -_-

Thanks for the help guys. I went out to my autoparts store and had my alternator and battery tested.. They both came out good. I just changed my ignitor in my dizzy about a week ago, Got one from HAP.

After 8 hrs of diagnosing, i found that the problem was the ignition. I took apart half of my dashboard and found out that the WHITE igniton wire came out of its plug...

who would have known..

Thanks a bunch.. Good thing it wasn't anything major
