Car broken into again!!!!!

Unbeleivable! This will be the second time now, but this time in a a supposedly secure parking garage! Im really getting pissed now! I came back from a two week vacation to find my baby raped again!!!!! Before I left, I made the stupid mistake of unplugging my battery which invariably deactivated the alarm. I figured Id be alright in the garage. We got off the plane last night around 10 pm tired as all hell. My conscious told me to go and plug the battery and rearm the vehicle but I was so tired I would do it the morning. Turns out me and two other people gott broken into last night, the night that I finally came home. God I feel stupid, I could have completely avoided this if I had gotten off my lazy ass up an turned my alarm on. I got the paging alarm so I would have known right away. Lucky f@ck would have gotten a hammer to the head if I known about it . Anyway I found the driver side window pulled out. They ended up jacking my amp out the back. No damage to the interior or exterior other than the window thank god! Man I went fuming to the apartment manager. But for the second time she didnt want to here it. I told her that she was negligent because I had asked 4 or 5 times to fix a faulty door on the side of the garage. Several other people asked her too. This has been going on for 6 months since my other lude was broken into. Well the door remains unlocked and unfixed. What legal right do we have with irresponsible apartment landlords!

sue the *****. get all the people hwo complained to rally together, sign a petition and sue for damages that otherwise would have been avoided.

That's what I would do!

Just make sure its written somewhere on a document that was given to you stating the garage IS secure.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. At least the car is still there.

You don't need to disconnect your cable if you are only leaving for a week or two. My car has been garaged for three years now and sometimes sits 4 or 5 weeks in between starts with no problems.

Don't waste your time disconnecting the car. I'd rather have the piece of mind.

Good luck with the repairs.

Mark

^ very true, at LEAST all they took was the amp ...
I got lucky when my car got jacked in october. No damages at all except for audio .. but at least you know if that door gets fixed you can regain some peice of mind.

I'll be pointing a camera and a sensor light at my car , both active with motion so if somebody wants to mess again .. ooooooo... I feel bad for them becuz there is no mercy.

I don't believe it matters if the garage is stated secure, what matters is a broken door provided access to the vehicles. The broken door was known about by the landlord, and not repaired for 6 months. Your lease pays for these facilities as well so I think you should be protected. I would get the group, write a formal letter signed by all requested reimbursement for expenses or insurance deductibles within a month or tell her you will be speaking with a lawyer. Then call a lawyer...

Call insurance and say you need a window now, can you get it done and have them re-emburse? get a few quotes from differnt places so they know you shopped around.

keep in mind the dreaded deductable.

Back to the legal action though, you'll at least get the signatures of the other's whose car's were broken into, and I'm sure easily get others to join in once they know what happened, and why it happened. I'm sorry about your car, I must spend 3/4 of the day thinking about my Prelude, the idea of some a$$hole breaking into it pisses me off to no end. By the way, what kinda of alarm do you have, I was curious about the ones with pagers, and will be shopping for a quality alarm soon. I hope you get everything straightened out soon, and don't for a second think once your car get's fixed that it's not worth it to go after the apt. people, the fact that they didn't do anything for 6 months is reason enough to make them regret it, add that your car get's broken into BECAUSE of their innaction and you have a recipe for disaster ... ahem, their disaster

^I totally agree! Trust me they havent heard the last from me! On top of that I found out today that the cop gave me the wrong case file number so I had to square all that away with the police department. And on top of that Im still waiting for the appraiser to call to set up an appointement. I called them first to see what they had to say and they told me the insurance information hasnt arrived yet. Except I called my insurance company and they have sent it twice! WTF!!! Why cant people just do there freakin jobs!!! I got a waste all my time keepin these fools accountable, its pathetic.

I have a Clifford Matrix pager alarm which I love. Unfortionately my alarm wasnt armed during the break in so I am to blame over that. Stupid Stupid Stupid!!!!!!

Based on your location, would you go hard on their ass if you did find them?
