car alarm problem

a little while ago I was setting up my sound system with the engine off and drained the battery. after jumping it and charging it back up, I noticed that my alarm is in some kind of limp mode now. usually the red LED will blink on and off when the system is armed, but now it just stays lit whenever the engine is not running. keyless entry works fine, but the siren didn't go off when I had it armed and opened the trunk so I know something is up. anyone have this problem before? I think maybe it needs to be reset or something but I lost the manual. it's a DEI rattler alarm.

edit: n/m, just found the manual.

You can also try
ignition on, ignition off then within 10 seconds press the valet button and release
If your remote has I II buttons
press I, II, I
with the door open

thanks for the help, I just did the ignition on, ignition off, and then pressed the valet button and that fixed it. it says in the manual that pressing I, II, I with the door open should work too but it didn't for some reason.

I also have another question about the alarm, is it possible to adjust the volume of the chirp when arming/disarming? I've had it in silent mode because the chirps are just too loud, and there wasn't any info on changing the volume in the manual. is there some wire I can add a resistor to to tone it down a little?
