Cant fix heater

Still haveing problems with my heater! I have flushed the whole water system with some stuff which was ment to unblock it and while I had some of the pipes off i connected the hosepipe to the hose that carries the water to the heater matrix. The water came flowing out the retern pipe as fast as I was putting it in there wich makes me think it was not blocked in the first place! So I got my wife to turn the heater off and on to check the valve wich stops the water when the heater is off and that is working fine. Which makes me think could it be one of the flaps that control the heat and where it go's if so dose any one know where thay are? or has any one got a link that will show me or has any one got any outher ideas!

many thanks
Alex

Take apart your dash (center area where stereo is installed), remove your climate control or get a view where you can see the heater cable ... is there pressure when you slide the cable on the dash to HOT from cool ???

did you replace thermostat ?

yeah, if you haven't checked that, yohan might be on to something. You may not even have to take the dash off, there's a cable that runs on the passenger side floor area (near where someone's left foot would be if they were sitting on the passenger side), it's jacketed, but farther up I believe it's exposed, anyway, when you slide your temp control from side to side, that cable moves, see if you can feel it move, if not, maybe that's your problem.

okay I have a question for you, this cable that you are talking about, could it be possible that by taking that big metal ecu cover off and putting it back on that maybe that cable got wedged underneath it, making it not functional?? possible?

ecu cover? sorry bud, you're over my head now. We are talking on the cabin-side of the firewall, yes? I'm not too sure, I mean, there's no slack in it, it's somewhat taut and runs from the firewall to up to the controls. I'm gonna go replace my wiper inserts in a sec, I'll take a look to make sure I'm not just makin an a$$ outta myself and I'll get back to you.

right, the passenger side, where your feet rest, the ecu has a huge metal guard, that is held down by a bunch of ten millimeter nuts, it almost goes the whole width of the area down there under the carpet, judging from your response I don't think that's my problem, I was just grasping for straws. oh well.

but my heat control knob definately feels like the cable is pinched on something.
