Can anyone help me with my AC problems?

Im meltin here! so here's the deal. my AC comes on and for a minute or 2 its cool air. then its starts feeling like just vent air. then its sorta cool again but not what it should be, then its back to vent air again. well lets just say im sweatin balls by this point. if im on the interstate or at a good steady pace then the ac works pretty well. it will blow warm a few mins here and there but overall it stays comfortable. At night there is no problem what so ever. It stays cool the entire time. so what give? i know as of now that the ac clutch is kickin in and that the fans are both workin(ac and radiator), and i added a can of refrigerant to it and it took the can no problem. I live in KY and i just bought the car from FL 3 weeks ago. its a 95 and only has 60k miles on it. i have owned 3 other preludes and never had this problem but they have all been from here in KY. Could the climate in Clearwater FL have anything to do with this. Is this farely common and how do I fix it.

try this, when it goes through a period of "not working" just bang on the a/c unit, not hard but give it a good knock. if it starts to work, then it could be the soldering coming apart. thats how mine did, like you are describing.

there is a write up on how to resolder your connections. I had the exact problem and fixed it in like 30 mins with the help of the write up. The only thing is taht you have to inevitablly break some light connectors inside so your top slider lights might not illuminate.
