I was told by the company who tuned and dynoed my car that they get more of a gain from cars with stock cams then cars with aftermarket cams. I gained 3.8 hp and 6.1 ft-lbs of torque to the wheels just by tuning cam gears ... they said on stock cams they've gained as much as 13 hp to the wheels! Every car will be different, well worth it if you ask me..

Assuming you have a Type-S ECU tuned for the higher lift and duration.

I think the reason that stock cams produce more power is that they arn't beyond the scope of the stock fuel maps. The ecu can only provide so much fuel, and if your cams are letting in more air then te ecu can provide fuel for, then your not going to see a perfect mixture and thus, not as much HP.

Thats why I got the Vafc. Tuning the type-s, cam gears, and Vafc will result in nice gains.
