calling all georgia luders

hey whats up everyone?
alright, i was wondering if any of you have ever been to mahdavi
motorsports, and if they do good work there? i'm taking my car to
them in a couple days because i tried to figure out how to wire
my 95 jdm h22 into my 96 si body and was taking alot longer
than i wanted it to. but i spoke with them and they said they have done this swap before and sounded like they new what they
where talking about, and would have done for me in a week.
but i was wondering if anyone on here ever went to them or heard anything about them.

I have never been their, but they are a respected atlanta area shop. The owner has a white Supra that won the burnout contest at the NOPI natonials this year and they also have the only rear wheel drive CRX I have ever seen. It's a NSX engine/suspension in the hatch area, the engine bay is empty. . .except for 2 big-ass nitrous bottles. If they can build something like that, I bet they can handle your wiring. BTW, where are you in GA? once you get the swap done, I would love to take a ride. . .I'm very much considering doing the same swap (or an SR20DET into a 240sx) and have never had the pleasure of riding in a Prelude with this motor.

actualy i live in wv, but i'm taking my and engine to them because
i can't find anyone around here that knows what they are doing
or who would even do it. but they are located in lil burn, just
outside of atlanta. if you live close to there or would just like to
run up there when my car is done i'll give you a ride in it to see
if you like it or not. i would have loved to have experienced it
before i bought it, but i live in the wv and no around here has
it done. actually there is only one person around here with a 4th
gen vtec lude. i'm taking my car down this friday, will be there
sat, but they said it would only take a week. so either you let
me know what up or i will get a hold of you

Your'e driving 10 hours from WV to have your swap finished? geeze!! How are you getting the car down here, if the swap isn't compleated? I actually live in Atlanta (go to GA Tech). I'd be glad to drive out to Mahadavi when you are going to pick the car and go for a spin.

yes i'm going to drive 10 hours t get this done. and i'm pulling my car down with a car dolly. i wanted to do it my self but i kept running into problems, so i found someone who has done this
swap before. see my car is obdII and my h22 is obdI, they are going to wire my old harness to my new engine so it will hook
up properly to my cars main harness, and i have a skunk 2 adapter harness to convert my harness to fit the obdI ecu.
but i just don't have the pacients to sit around and try to figure it
out, I REALLY WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR AGAIN, so i thought what the hell i'll let someone who has done this swap before do it and
thats who i found that seemed like they new what they were
doin. but i will let you know when my car will be done and when
i'm going to be back down to pick her up and we can both experience this jdm h22 for the first time

Hey, I live like 10 mins from them!

They're pretty reputable. Although they're a little bit pricey for their swaps, but they do get it done right. ($1000 in labor alone for ANY swap) But you get what you pay for. I haven't heard anything bad about their swaps...so I take it they're good.

VeeTec mentioned something about a meet this month somewhere. I still have no clue where it is...but it'll be cool if you can hang down here for awhile.

BTW, don't you just have to wire the VTEC activation wire and an extra knock sensor? A Helms Manual can help find the correct pin outs. I'll have to ask the people who's actually done the swap and wiring for the exact wiring procedures first...

Let me know if there is a GA meet planned, I would love to go. . .also, remember he's going OBD1/OBDII, so it's not as straight forward.

red92s is exactly right not all of the plugs match up and you have
to put a new oil pump and a crank angle sensor in the h22.
but they are going to do all that and wire my engine up with my
old harness off my h23a1 so the engine harness will plug directly
to the main harness on my car. and it is a little pricy, but it seems
worth it to me since i have never done alot of work on cars other
than basic maintence and stereo systems.
thanks for the info guys, it made feel alot better about having them do my engine

I cannot recommend Mahdavi.

For one they damaged my Prelude while it was getting an oil change, then Sam, (one of the owners), ran around screaming obscenities instead of trying to talk to me like I was a customer.

They fixed the damage, after I told him if they didn't I would take legal action.

Then after I left I noticed my car was running sluggish, and after draining the oil I found that they had put in 20W50!!!!!

I requested 10W30. That was the end of my business with Mahdavi. They could probably care less, but after that I ended up spending several thousand more dollars building my car. If they had treated me right they may have gained a good customer.

But in the end I am glad I never had them work on my car again. Since then I have hard many horror stories from other disgruntled customers about sloppy, or downright bad work that has ended up costing other customers time and money.

What you do is up to you, but I would recommend finding another shop.

KMS is an engine builder, but they have done swaps, so you might want to call them and see what they say.

The web site is www.honda-performance.com

Ask for John, he owns the company, and is VERY knowledgable.

They may be able to help you out.

BTW, our meet is going to be in Orlando Fla, on Feb.23rd. Check Off Topic for more details and updates.
