Ok like the title says. they must have wayyyy over torqued these damn things but how can i get it off. I really need to get this bolt off soon because i need my car. pleaseeeeee help me
Drill it. Maybe a set of vice grips will get it out. If not a good sawzall is your best friend. If you are afraid to try it just take it to a brake place.

How does torquing your wheels to spec hold the caliper in place? Rotors yes, but if your caliper touches your wheel anywhere you are in seroius trouble...
Are you using an impact gun to rmove the caliper bolt. cays if you aren't then you'll probably never get it off with hand tools unless they've been removed before..
wow, i just got over this same problem...rear bolts stripped...so i took it somewhere, and they got them off....even the best of us are limited to the tools we possess.
Hmmm..well i would really like to put these rotors on myself. i guess i could drill it out and then just got buy another bolt. could i find one the same size at home depot or something.?
Im talking about the bolt that holds the caliper on. There are 2 of em and i got the top one off and the bottom one is the one that is stripped. im really not sure how i wanna try and take it off but i want to install these myself.
im still saying, spray the piss out of it with one of those sprays or wd40 if necessary. Then pinch those vice grips down really hard. But you will need a replacement bolt any way you look at it. so
were talking about #20 correct?

Correct man. my friend took a dremel to the bolt and started hacking it off. he had to leave so im sittin here not really know what to do. how am i suppose to get the center out once i get to there. he told me there wouldnt be any force on it after you cut the head off so it should screw out. i guess we will see.....
You can try using a bolt extractor once the head is off, but I dunno if he's right about there not being any force. I would have just taken a slightly smaller socket, and pounded the piss outta it untill it fit on the head, then try turning it. How did you strip it? Were you using an adjustable wrench or something?
No i was not using an adjustable socket. i used a 17mm which is what you are suppose to use. it honestly is torqued the f*ck on there. i will try that easy out if nothing else works. later
Sorry i read wrong. i was not using an adjustable wrench. but those adjustable sockets are suppose to be able to remove stripped bolts but i already cut the head off, so i guess im just going to be drilling it out. do yall think pep boys, autozone, lowes hardware, or home depot would have the bolt to replace this one because i really need to get everything back together today and the honda dealership is closed today. later
