CAI vs. Weapon R for H23.

My car had a weapon-r intake when I bought it, would it be worth swapping it for AEM or other cold air intake ?

Has anybody ever done this ?

you're most likely losing power with that weapon-r intake. I'm not sure if you'll notice a big difference in power if you swap it but the AEM cai has been tested and does give some power gains. I like my AEM cai

i dont know about details for your specific application, but i do know that the comparison of AEM vs Weapon-R = AEM. I think you should swap it out and be the test subject for us. I dont think you'll be disappointed.

Weapon-R isnt the best line of products you can buy. In my opinion they make ricer products like APC, and Ractive. Go with the AEM... you wont be sorry.

I had a Weapon-R intake on my old 3rd gen. It sounded nice, and I actually noticed it gave the car a little oomph over 5500 rpms, but it was barely noticeable. It sounded MEAN though, I liked it, however AEM doesn't make a CAI for a 3rd gen., so it was my only option. I'll get nothing BUT AEM for my new 4th gen.

I've driven stock vs. weapon R intake's on 4th gen h23's before.

There definately is a noticeable difference from stock, as ****ty as I heard the weapon-r's are.

The cars I drove that didn't have the performance intake seemed to drive a lot tighter, i definatly feel a bit less response on the throttle but once it gets going the growl and extra power in the higher end is awesome .. I didn't drive a great array of cars but.. I hate opening my hood to show people and seeing that weapon-r sticker ..and i dont want ot take it off so its half on .. blech ..

guess I will have to try and be the AEM guinea pig .. does the H23 CAI also fit the H22 ? I have future plans on doing a swap

Great writeup on building the head of the H22 in honda tuning magazine. It's all skunk2 **** but .. a good read IMO.
