My 92 had r12, but they may have switched between generations. Getting a r12 recharge can cost a few hundred bucks. you can buy conversion kits on ebay.
R12 blows snowballs...On the other had instead of the 60-75 bucks per pint of the stuff, you could have it retro fitted with R134a for A LOT cheaper. I had the retro fitting on the acclude, and it is cold enough for Texas, so you should be ok
