Mostly likely you won't be able to do it yourself. R12 is no longer offered to the public unless you're licensed. You'll either need to go to a pro to get r12 service or retrofit the systemt o r134a. Specs are on a sticker under the hood.

i just replaced my a/c...
look to make sure your compressor works,
if it does then remove the cap marked with an "L" it's kinda small and mine is teal colored. (by the radiator towards the battery)
then basically hook it up and puncture the can with the pump thing... and shake it and move it till the pressure builds.
if it doesnt build pressure, then you probably have to get it sent to a mechanic

if its blowing completely hot you probably need like 3 small cans of r134a

3rd gen i think uses r12

Ok first of all he has a 92 si. It's a 4th gen. That's why it's posted in the 4th gen section. Second 92's use r12. Unless he has already converted his system to r134a DO NO PUT r134a into a r12 system, it will damage it. 3rd If the system is low on refrigerant the compressor will not engage.

If the system is low and the compressor will not engage is there a way to jump the compressor to get it moving while having a can of refrigerant attached?

You shouldn't need to jump it. Connect the can refrigerant to the low side and the pressure from the can will push refrigerant into the system. When there's enough pressure in the system the compressor should turn on it self and continue to pull in the rest of the refrigerant.

yeah my bad... i forgot it was every model lude before 94 uses r12...
i'd take it to a shop it shouldn't be over 100 to fix it

and for the compressor... it should work unless it's been out for a LOOONG time. the computer shuts it off once it gets low enough to prevent damage
