A/C Problems

It was about 70 outside on saturday so i decided to see if th A/C would work. i turned it on and it was hot. waited with it on for about 5 to 10 minutes and still hot. it was cooler outside than that A/C was putting out. Not sure why. Anyone know? If i haveto get a new one, i may just take the damned thing out!

maybe the cable isn't connected in back to the slider? so it's stuck in the warm air position

not sure, but last summer it got to where i turned the A/C on FULL BLAST and nothing would happen whatsoever, absolutely nothing. after running it at about 6000 rpm for a few minutes it worked fine....this happened more than once though.

make sure your slider isn't broken, go under the passenger side glove box and open the panel and find some white plastic things and slide it all the way to one side then try the other see if the temperature changes

DEFINATELY make sure you even have any refrigerant left in your system. A while back, my headers burnt a hole in my return hose, and nice, fluorescent green jive shot all over my engine bay, and this happened while I was driving on a long distance trip. I bought a new hose, and took it to an A/C shop, had the system re-lubed & refilled, and it cost me about $250 total to have everything done. I usually prefer small, hole-in-the wall shops w/ the proper equipment over the nice, new shops, b/c for some wierd reason, I always get better work done at WAY lower prices than the bigtime shops could ever provide me with.

when i mentioned the cable i wasn't making myself clear... but basically it's like your hood-popper

it's a big black cable with a metal cable inside... so what happens is when u slide the temp slider, the black cable stays put and the metal slides around... but what may have happened is that the clip holding the black cable in place got dislodged or somethin so now when ur sliding it ur sliding the whole thing meaning no change..

i guess try to slide it back and forth, without the ac, and see if u notice any temp changes... if not maybe the slider just came loose
