My AC was working great. I left for 2 days, came back and it doesnt work. The car sat in the street - it didnt rain while I was gone and the car was not driven. The green light comes on when I press the button. The condensor fan doesnt come on and I can tell that the compressor isnt working. I don't know what else to check. One day it was working great, the next day it isn't. I re soldered the pins a few years ago and it worked ever since. The air was never iffy before, it always worked.
Any ideas?

Basically he is saying try resoldering the connections in the climate control again and if that doesnt work you are going to have to trouble shoot the electrical components for the a/c system.
haha, no I meant. If everything seems to work except for the compressor kicking in, it's prob the pressure switch. It's inline wiht the low side I think? It might work one minute (hell maybe when it's hot outside, but not anything below 70deg, or the opposite), then quit the next. Try putting some cheap freon in and see if that's it. If it is, get the system pressure tested with die.
get the the cheap freon kit, it has a can, the hoses to charge the system, with a guage to tell you if you're low, ... shouldnt cost any more than 30$ & if in fact you are low, then you can just fill it, but if you aren't, its good to have because freon wont last forever in your car.
i live in texas, almost everyone i know has the kit in their garage, a/c is a precious commodity around here.
The a/c system hasn't been "serviced" since '01 when I bought the car. It has (or had) 134a in it. Does the coolant come with the lubricant and stuff in it so I won't screw anything up? I am debating whether to try it myself, OR just take it and let them figure it out and probably pay several hundred $$
So, if I haven't had the system serviced in a while, is it possible that it just kinda ran out? Is this "normal" ?
oh, I am assuming they serviced it when I got the car in '01 at the Honda dealer

you don't need the oil. oil usualyl only needs to be added/replaced when you replace a component. the pressurized freon/air is what escapes, the oil is lower in the system, usually stuck in the compressor or the bottom of the components, thsi is why you should run your system every now and then in the winter.
just buy a refill kit, instructions are easy =)
