A/C Compressor

Ok, the clutch on my compressor does not engage when I turn on my A/C. Does this mean it's bad or I need refrigerant? I don't think there's any refrigerant in there.

Thanks

if there's no refrigerant, it won't engage to protect the compressor.

Whilst the above might be true, I wouldnt don't think you can discount a faulty clutch.

it could be many things, like the clutch cycling switch, pressure switch, loose wire, etc. best thing to do is have it checked if your going to use it.

Is there something it plugs into? I have a few plugs just hanging around with nothing plugged into them. I can't find where they go.

False...if you vaculate your system your A/C clutch will still engage. Mine does not engage either and i am going to find out whats with it one of these days. I'll let you know what i found out.
