buying turbo components seperately....

Are most kits for the 4th gen similiar? I was thinkin of maybe buying parts here and there as i saw em on ebay. Some are for the f-max some for the drag gen 2 kit....are the exhuast manifolds the same for both? I'd think they would be...but maybe they connect differently. Honestly i'm still kinda learning about them here. I can afford a few bucks here and there, but i'm never gonna have 3-3500 to plunk down at once that's why im thinkin of buying it seperate. Any advice/wisdom on this???

I know I sound like a broken record, but do a search on the FI forums. Theres a lot of smart ass dudes over there.

Dr. James said that building a custom kit is the way to go, $$-wise, and performance wise.

It is by no means an easy voyage, so read up a little, and see if turbo is something you really want to do.

The off-the-shelf kits are nice, and all, but for the 4th Gens, I think you're better off piecing it together. That's what a lot of 4th Gen guys/gals do, and they've been pretty happy. Just be prepared to build your engine up, a bit, just to be on the safe side. W/ a custom kit, you can get the best of everything, instead of having a few nice parts, and a few parts that are just total crap, but come w/ the kit.
