Buying an exhaust sytem...where/what to get?

I am thinking about buying an exhaust system for my car. I am not sure what brand to buy. What do you guys think? Also, I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money...no more than $500 shipped. Can someone please direct me to a good place to go for an exhaust system? Thanks.

Do you want it loud or not? Does it matter if it has an angled tip or no? Tell us a little more about how you want it to sound cause that makes a big difference in what suggestions you get.

depends what your looking for though. I personally would love to have a Apex WS exhaust instead of my Greddy PE, but I love my PE as well.

I want a low pitched sounding exhaust. NOT the weed-eater sounding ones. I guess I would just get the Cat-Back exhaust system. I dunno a whole lot about exhausts hehe

Well if u decide to spend more money go Thermal the Greddy exhausts are a little over 500 but if u combine one of those with the Greddy header that would be nice. Other than that, if u just want a nice thoaty exhaust get a shop to mandrel bend you a mid pipe and catback pipe and get a more expensive "univeral muffler." Thats what I did (i have H23 with i/e) and mine sounds great. There is a risk you take with doing it this way...it just might sound like a weed whacker. I did this just cause I had to (long explanation if u really want there are threads on ) Goodluck with your descision.

I have an HKS sport exhaust and it didn't change the sound very much. It is a noticeable difference at idle and low rpm. at top end it sounds about the same. It doesn't attract attention though so i like it.

If I didn't get my RS*R, I would've gotten an Apexi WS or GReddy EVO

i would've gotten the apexi WS but i don't like the way it looks... it's too skinny and doesn't really complement the "fat" rear of our 4th gens. that's why i got the big greddy power extreme. i'm in love with that exhaust. high rpm's... it sounds just like stock... and at low rpm's it's got that deep throaty sound, combined with an intake, it's symphony.

swish-booooom
