Burning oil smell

OK , I have an 93 Si with 110K miles , I recently got my valve seals fixed , timing belt , water pumped changed and etc...my problem is when I come back from work , park , turn off my engine , i smell burning oil ...it did this even before i had my valve seals fixed...I think there might be an oil leak but I dont see any...What could be wrong? Im asking this before I bring it back to the shop. Thanks.

oil is leaking onto a hot exhaust part or just a hot part of the engine.

check the valve cover gasket around the edges and see if its leaking. my engine leaks from somewhere in the rear and onto my exhaust where it burns.

Checked valve cover gasket ... Looks good to me , no signs of oil leak...

Our oil cooler, which is between the filter and the block, has an O-ring seal. Mine was leaking slowly and dripping on the flex pipe giving me the same problem. I could smell it in the car after sitting at a stoplight. On the coldest day of this winter the O-ring broke and I finally knew where the leak was coming from cause it was no longer just dripping. I changed the O-ring - no more burning oil smell - unless I back up into my own exhaust.

Could that oil-cooler seal be the reason my car has a slight burning-oil scent after a few nice hard runs? When I go easy, it doesn't seem nearly as bad as when I start pulling up to redline...

did you check the valve cover, rear cam rubber-cap-thingy, and the distributor seal?

but yea, could be the oil cooler seal or the oil pan gasket.

mine stopped leaking oil for a few months after i replaced the oil pan gasket, but started leaking again from somewhere else... the joys of owning an old car.

I had the same problem. This past week it's been below zero and I think that's when the O-ring went on me. Seems to not like the cold :S I got it replaced and everything seems to be fine.
