ok i have a 93 Si and was on ebay lookin for glo gauges, if i dont care what real Rpm i am realy at can i put VTEC gauges in, they look exactly the same with same speed but diffrent tach.
also should i remove my header covers? will it casue more heat in my engine bay?
if i get glo gauges should i get lay overs or the real thing.
can i ceriamic coat my headers my self? with that plasti coat stuff or dupli coat, and will it help
witch hose do you plug on your intake, im guessin not the one to your head, so the other one? what should i use?

I can't answer any of your gauge questions, but as for the header...
Why do you want to remove the heat shield? It'll only make your engine bay hotter. I took mine off for about a month (I was ready to install my GReddy, but I got lazy so I left it off). I noticed when I popped my hood open, it felt slightly hotter than when it was on. If there's a heat shield that'll fit over aftermarket headers I'd buy it. Bottom line is, keep it on. No reason for you to take it off, the stock header looks like **** anyways.
As for the ceramic coating. I don't know. But there's no point spray painting the header. It'll only melt off. And when a header gets "coated", they usually coat the inside as well. Unless you have the equiptment (I assume you don't, sinze you're poor ) to ceramic coat it, I would just leave your header alone, until you get an aftermarket header.
Don't know what plug you're talking about? If you've removed your resonator, you plug up hose #8.
you can put the gauges on there, but what would be the point? just get the SI gauges, they are the same price. Get the lay over kind...they are the easiest to install, and you dont have to take the needles off to put them on. They just slip over them and thats that.
Good luck!

im not talking about coating my headers on the inside just on the ou side there is paint (ceramin based) stuff that AEM uses on there intakes witch stands up to high heat (dont know temp) but about how hot do the headers get cuz i will find out next time i go to auto zone or whatever it should keep it cooler is the only reason i would do it not for looks
For starters, you dont have "headers" unless you have tw0 sepertate exhaust manifolds. . .you have a "header".
Secondly, Painting your exhaust manifold with high-temp spray paint wont keep them any cooler. Just take the time and money you were going to invest in that project and put it toward a halfway decent header.

ceramic based it keeps head in the "header" and not in the engine bay how about wraping them?
hey ghettoride you should totally wrap your stock header dude, keeps the heat in and the exhaust gas goes faster through the header. and when your cat melts, just take it off and run open pipe. oh and add a vtec sticker on your windshield, vtec sticker adds 50 hp dude and only costs like couple bux

I think you could be a little less rude. It's not like he posed how many V-TEcH stickers he should put on his Si.
BTW the header temperature does not affect its performance much.
