Bulldog remote start system.

my prelude has a sticker on the inside of the hood that says it is equipped with a bulldog remote start system. does anybody else have anything else like this on their car? It is on my automatic prelude that i am salvaging parts from and i was wondering if there was any way to take it off and put it on my manual prelude? also how would i find and program a remote for it?

i have a remote start 2 way paging alarm. i install alarms and really bulldogs arenot really one of those alarms you can transfer from vehicle to vehicle. what do you want? remote start? alarm? both?

Remote start on a manual is the same accept you must keep the car in Neutral all the time and set the e-brake.

Yes you can.. most shops will not do it because they are liable for it. If you leave your car in gear and remote start it the car will jump forward, not safe at all. If you have it you always have to remember to leave the car in neutral when parked.

With most remote starters there is no way for the remote starter to know it's in neutral (unless you rig something up.) The remote starter will keep cranking as the car as it hops down the street (and into whatever is in the way.)

If you want remote start on a manual make sure the hardware is designed for it.

ummm you wire the hood pin wire through a diode to the neutral position sensor.

The diode allows you to have both a hood pin and neutral saftey

i have the compustar remote start system/alarm/paging. it has a specific way you have to "shut down" the car before it can remote start it. You have to pull up the ebrake, then turn the key and pull the key out. the car stays running until you open and shut the door, then it knows it's in neutral and not in gear! If any of the above isn't done, the alarm won't let you remote start it!

Good purchase i'd say!

. ok. i just now had a chance to check this. yeah i am wanting to pull the remote start and anything else with it off my automatic and wire it into my manual. Where would i find all the units and how would i go about rewireing it up. i'm pretty good at stuff like this, i just don't know where to find the stuff at in the first place inside of my car. my goodlude doesn't have remote start but it has an audiovox alarm on it already.

btw, does anyone know why i don't get emails about new messages in threads i subrcibe to? i get im emails, but that's all. and yes, it is selected in the options

I've installed several of those remote starts for family, none on manuals though. The remote start feature on my wifes 4th gen auto was pretty straightforward. www.bulldogsecurity.com is their site, and you can email them at: techsupp@bulldogsecurity.com or you can call 1.800.878.8007
