If anyone has currently got the cluster apart/removed, could you please take a pic of the bulbs that illuminate the speedo/tacho face? I need to see the bulb type before I try a little something...
It depends on the year. If it is the 92-93 model then they are just little wedge bulbs but if it is 94-96 the bulbs are actually fouresent (sp?) tubes like the lights in office buildings. The are bent to light up the entire gauge but that is exactly what they are. Sorry I don't have any pics.
Sorry, I should've said my car is 93, non-electro gauges.
Absolut, 10/10
Charlie, thanks for your time, but they're obviously the electro gauges. One thing though, I've never removed the gauges before, any tips you can give? Will the strip that runs the length of the dash at the bottom stick back ok? Or does it need to be replaced?
Thanks friends, all info is welcomed and greatly appreciated

basically start by taking off the top plastic piece (underside of top part) then, pull out the speaker housing (should pop right out no problem) then youll see a plastic piece (separate your speedo/tach gauge, and fuel temp gauge) take that one screw off at the top. then you should see I think 3 screws holding the gauge cluster, take those out. unplug the wires from the side. lift the cluster up and pull out from bottom. everything here is almost snap in and out. Should be all.
Oh yea....use a magnetic screw driver, its easy to loose screws and drop down into the bottomless pitt in there
it has double sided tape on it, I've taken mine out and put it back in no problem, there seems to be a groove it sits into. you should be ok....even if the tape doesnt stick

uk, that black strip will come off and go right back in, just try not to pull on it too hard, i take mine off everything i clean my dash and it snaps back in fine
holy crap 2005, that looks crazy, i've never seen the backside of the electrogauges, do you think itd be possible to take a pic of those tubes lit up while its out of the dash???

Too late, I did it yesterday (thanks for the tips Charlie and I didn't drop one screw into the dash either ) and the bulbs are not the type I hoped they'd be Oh well, at least I now know how it comes apart.
Did you want pics of the back of the gauges or just the front??
Influx, you're right. The trim went back in place fine, I thought that with it being held by double sided tape that it might start lifting or coming away but it's fine.
One thing though, I removed the perspex front from the whole dash (just being nosey) and in the space between the clock and the end of the dash there was a white plastic piece. Kind of like a box with an open front (it had a back and sides) and it seemed to serve no real purpose. Anyone else seen it???
