Broken bottle of 151 in trunk!! how to clean?!

I had about $90 of booze in the trunk and had to make a panic stop to avoid an accedient. Luckily, the only fatality was a liter of Bacardi 151. Because this stuff is 76% alcohol, my car smells like I poured rubbing alcohol all over the interior. All suggestions as to how I should try to de-boozify the trunk panels freshen it up a little before my parents decide they need to borrow it?

Note to self: Never drive car with $90 of unsecured booze in trunk, especially if you are 19 and your parents like to borrow your car without asking.

I'd lick it clean!

Just remove the carpet and use some carpet cleaner on it. Then spray loads of air freshener to hide the smell.

Lots of those products only mask odors...

Like Febreeze.. It seems like it doesn't really get rid of the odor, just masks it, (for a short period of time, that is!) and I would definetely recommend getting the interior detailed.. They will shampoo the seats and trunk or whatever you want them too, and that will wash the smells out, only smelling like shampoo. Sure it will be a strong cleaning scent for a few weeks, but at least it doesn't smell like Febreeze AND alcohol.

Ok I have a worse story. Borrowed my parents van to jack some kids 1999 RM 250 bike [I was just borrowing it :P] anyways its 3 am. Me and my buddy lift the dirt bike into the van [its a GMC Safari van and we pulled out the seats] anyways the bike goes in and its sitting on its side, half the tank of gas comes out the overflow!!!!!!!!

I had to pull the carpet and take it to an industrial carpet cleaning place! It smelt so bad they almost refused to take the carpet! haha

rent a carpet shampooer from your local rental store..costs you $25 for a day and $10 in cleaning supllies. make sure it has an upolstry attachment and you can shampoo your panels.

strip all the stuff from your trunks and hose it down with scented bleach. then suck the water out with a wet vac..tad daa smell all gone.

by the way with a detail they only do the carpet and seats..and thats extra...the trunk would cost you more

toss a lit match in there. woosh...151's so volatile it'll flash for a sec, burn off, and be gone. of course i've only heard this, so i wouldn't necessarily try it.
