Brakes and rotors...

Hey guys... i've asked around the preludepower site, and i keep getting the same answer (the one i dont want!) so i'll ask you folks.

I need new brakes and rotors... and no, i do NOT want aftermarkets/performance/colors/anything. I just want new brakes and rotars... mine are horrible and REALLY need replaced before i die someday on the highway! What are the best ones i can get, at the cheapest. Autozone? If so, what brand?

I figure you guys will have alot of different answeres i can compare to suit my needs, and budget. Thanks alot.

again, i dont want a performance brake system!

i got brembo blanks as my rotors when i needed new brakes...i know its aftermarket but they are a pretty basic rotor without spending the money on oem, good quality too i've heard. For my brake pads i got akebono's...so far they have worked great and have been easy on my wallet. Im guessing again this isnt really the answer you wanted but....go with oem if you dont want aftermarket, i guess.

check out importrp.com and look for brake parts. there are some rotors called opparts. those are cheap, and good. I have a set for non-vtec (front) i'd sell you that are brand new. I swapped to vtec calipers up front before I got a chance to put these on. I don't have too much experience with testing brake systems with only different pads, so I really couldn't tell you what pad woudl work better for you, but in my opinion, unless you race your prelude in any way, semi-metallic pads from autozone or something woudl probably work decent for you.

I used Brembo Blanks for rotors and Akebono ProACT ceramic pads. All the same as OEM. They cost $150 or $200 for front rotors and brake pads all around. OEM pads are ceramic. Stops great and dusts very little on the rims.

Get Brembo blanks and axxis ultimate pads. PM Mike95lude as he is a sponser and has a po.com discount if you check under 'parts classified'.

Depends on your pads, but it's about $100 for the front (assuming axxis MM pads) from importrp.com (PO.com sponsor).

Get the cheap rotors from importrp. I just put them on my car. Then stock or Axxis Ult pads. I would never spend lots of money on fancy rotors.

so i could go with these?
http://www.importrp.com/product.php?...&cat=38&page=1

seem a little cheap... maybe TOO cheap? kinda scared.

also... i know this is a newbish question... but it automatically comes up with a quantity of 2. Does that mean i get the SET of front rotors for $21.32, or just each side of the rotor for one side of the front

I'm using some $17 rotors I got at NAPA a few years back. So far they've outlasted my $100 Brembo set

I've recently done a VTEC brake upgrade and I got regular blank rotors. I don't like spending much money on brake rotors because they take a lot of abuse and no matter which rotors you buy, they will eventually need to be changed.
