Brakes

I am looking to replace my brakes and have a couple questions.

When replacing the rotors, how do i get them off the car? When i just replaced the pads last year i saw the rotors had a couple screws in them...do i just remove them and it comes off?? Or do i have to completely remove the caliper and then they slide off??

For a 95 SI with ABS, how hard is it to bleed the brakes. I have the Helm Service Manual and its telling me i need a computer to hook into a harness below the passenger seat...is this true??

any recommendations on rotors and pads??

Thanks!!!

I liked my brembo slotted with AEM pads. Better performance than stock.

The two screws in the rotor are just to hold the rotors on during production. Most people have problems getting them out but I never had any problems. You don't need a computer to bleed the brakes. You shouldn't have to bleed your brakes at all if you do it properly. You shouldn't remove any lines in the process.

Sorry i didn't specify about the bleeding. I am thinking about replacing the lines and was just curious....what kinda steps are involved in doing that??

Also, with the rotors, so how do i get them off??

Take off the wheel
Unbolt the caliper (2 bolts holding it to the spindle), then it'll just slide off.
Then undo the screws that are there... if they strip, don't worry about it, just drill them out you don't need them. Then the rotor should just come off.. if it doesn't move, kick it real good, it's just rusted on, it'll come off.

Go to www.NTPOG.org and check out the write-up on changing your rotors written by Todd and Charlie.

It is a step-by-step article with pics outlining the exact proceedure on how to change your rotors.

That's what I used.
