Brake setup help

Ok so im about to replace my pads and rotors up front. I have a 93 si 4ws with a h22a swap. What would you guys recommend for my pads and rotors. I dont want to do more than pads and rotors so please dont suggest any kind of legend caliper swaps or anything like that, i just need some good advice on what pads and rotors to get.

brembo blanks and axxis ultimates are a popular choice. I'm still on OEM pads and rotors, so I can't give you any firsthand experience, but with this bump I'm sure others will pipe in. Have you tried searching? I'd bet you this very question has been asked at least once before.

Second the Brembo blanks, check out the PO.com sponsors and see who's got a good deal going on them, they're pretty cheap (and don't bother with cross-drilled BS, do a search on that and you'll see they aren't worth it) and are excellent. Pads, EBC Greens, Axxis Ultimates, and Hawk HPS (or the more aggressive HP+ if you don't mind buying new rotors more often) are popular pads that are good for spirited driving. Getting some new stainless steel lines isn't a bad idea, helps with pedal feel and aren't too costly either.

^^ I'm with you on the Hawks and Axxis, but I've heard horrible things about EBC

I'm not real keen on the Greens (ha-ha...blah) either, I've heard (taken with a cube of salt) that they tend to chew up rotors more than they should and are dustier than hell. Me, I went with the Hawk HPS pads, and have been pretty happy. Now my brake master cylinder's on the fritz, so the nice stopping distances they gave me have steadily decreased.

Last spring I bought ceramic pads online for all four corners and got brembo blanks in the front....they look JUST like the OE ones so I dunno if they are worth it. They are made of the same material too so whatever they weren't too much. But the one thing I didn't do was rear rotors and now I need them b/c they look like crap. besides that one gripe everything else i did was just fine.

I also bled my brake lines.

are brembo blanks the new "hot thing" for people instead of just using normal oem or oem replacements? Just wondering because everytime i read about brake maintenance now on any honda car people are always talking about them. Just wondering...

well OEM rotors aren't that great, so blanks are just an easy step up considering they're the same size and come in an application for 4th and 5th gens.

Brembo blanks are pretty close in cost to OEM, if not cheaper at some places. I recently did all four corners with brembo blanks and the Hawk HPS pads. To be completely honest the car stops quick enough for all intensive purposes. Im just glad to be rid of the shaking steering wheel. I've heard great things about the Axxis pads and they are a lot cheaper than the Hawks.

^^ I've been wondering about that, are the blanks most people buy the same thing as Brembo OE replacement rotors?
