I have a similar problem..only, mine only occaisionally is on after I start the car but it does go off after a bit. Most of the time it happens I actually have had the e-brake up and it just doesn't go off right away. Would my brake fluid be low too?

mine was on because the brake light in the middle of back winsheild well it has 2 little fillamint things and one was broken.. Well the other still made it light up and i would start the car no brake light check all the brake lights after hitting brakes they all would work. Then id drive and hit the brakes once, the light came on droove me crazy!! i inspected every braklight bulb and found that one broken fillamint changed the bulb and its never done it again the brake light stayed out. i would check this if your fluid is fine..

There are two brake related lights in the 4th gen. One is the one that's lit with the parking brake up. The other is when a brake lamp is out. The op is talking about the former, you're talking about the latter.

ok ill be honest here... my old prelude had this problem, and it was never fixed..

all the brake lights worked, including spoiler, 3rd brake light (both bulbs), fluid was fine... no leaks.. re-bled them... i did everything and it never went away. Even brought it to Honda once and paid the $60 diag fee.... they couldnt figure it out either... ECU reset just made it come back on within the first 50 ft of driving (and no, im not talkin bout ABS light)

Some of them just cant be fixed.... thats my final thought
