Brake Lamp Light comes on, pretty often.

Hello,

It seems I'm replacing my brake lamps every other month. Does this happen for anyone else? I'll be driving, then applying the brakes, and my Brake Lamp light comes on. Sure, I replace all 3 brake lights (it's only 10 bucks, don't flame), and then like 6-8 weeks later one of them blow again. I guess this could be considered normal wear, but none of my other lights have gone out, so I don't know if I'm just being overdramatic or if maybe I have an electrical problem of some type someone else has experienced.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Similar problem here... although my brake light has stayed on since the first time one went out.... Ive replaced tailight bulbs, the two bulbs in the rear window light, and my spoiler LEDS are fine too.... idk.

Sounds like someone has broken wires and/or grounded wires.

I'd really look over your wires and grab a volt/ohm meter to find where the problem lies.

Are they really busted? Well yes, one of the lights is out when this happens. Replacing them seems to make the system happy and stop the light from coming on. The funny thing I just noticed today is the light was on on my way down to work, then as I drove around on my lunch break the light was off. Ah, how informative! hehe

Check your brake fluid. Low fluid levels in the resovoir will cause the light to come on.

^^^But aren't there two different lights for each function? A "brake lamp" light for a blown bulb and one that says just "brake" that indicates low fluid in the reservoir.

I have the same problem with the brake light, but my bulb only blew once, causing that light to go on ever since i replaced that damn bulb.
