Brake bleeding/master cylinder/pedal throw

The problem: when the car is at a standstill, with the engine ON, the pedal bottoms out when pushed fairly hard.

Car: 92 Prelude S non-ABS

Work I´ve done:
  • Replaced the MC twice (thinking first re-manunfactured unit was bad
  • Replaced all brake fluid with new Dot 3
  • Bled according to factory manual THREE TIMES, with letting the car sit overnight before bleeding the last time
  • Did NOT adjust booster push-rod

The good:
  • Brakes work good enough to lock up all four tires
  • With engine OFF pedal throw and stifness is very good with NO mushiness
  • no air bubbles showed-up during last two bleed attempts

What could this be? Brake booster push-rod adjustment (is still factory set)? Air in the system? Incorrect pedal adjustment (checked and is only about 2mm off)?

I will drive the car for the next few days and then re-bleed. Any other ideas?

Not a drop.

After driving around for a couple weeks, it is still with the same problem
