brake advice for you guys

I spent all last week doing brakes, make long story short, when you rebiuld your calapers, always replace evrey seal. I dident now I have to get new calapers!

yeah so I just figured out that the front calapers for the VTEC model are 177 each so I have spent 800 dollars on brakes.

well duh, once you take off the seals they won't fit back in properly

what exactly happened?

you can get rebuilt brakes for less than that. heck, i think you can get both calipers for $150 from pep boys or w/e

$800 :shock:

I got legend calipers, brembo blanks, motul .4 fluid and ebc redstuff pads for waaay less than that.

Sorry to hear about it though fella hope its ok now?

yea, whats with the price?

i got SS lines, legend calipers, $55 rebuild kit for the calipers, Hawk HP+ brake pads, and Brembo blanks for less than half of that

I got brembo blanks, hawk pads, painted old calapers, and put everything back on, only to find out that the seals dident seat right. So I took it up to the shop, they said they dont rebuild calapers anymore, so I had to order new ones. So everything is that much, o well its a 10 year old car, everything had to be replaced anyway

still thats alot of money... damn

what happened though? you leaked out all the brake fluid and lost your brakes?

most people dont rebuild calipers any more (to much liability if they fail while you are driving down the freeway) most parts stores sell them cheap with a waranty
