Well, driving home the other night from a concert at "The Roxy" in Hollywood my passenger side low-beam burnt out. So today my girlfriend and I went over to Pep Boys to get some new 9006's. Surprise, Pep Boys was out of 9006 bulbs (they only have APC "HID" bulbs, which I will not put on my lude because they are totally blue and look like they will burn in a week). So we went over to Kragen Auto Parts, and they actually had fully stocked shelves. I got a pair of Sylvania 'Cool Blue' bulbs. I am amazed with how well they work. Pure white light, no "rice" heavy blue tone. They light up the road way better than my stock low-beams.
All in all... im satisfied. It was a PITA to get those lock rings to unlock on the back of the lights though.
next time run water over the back of the housing to free all the dirt stuck in there. I think I have the same bulbs. they have the perfect tone and are actually better than stock. They haven't burned out yet (7-8 months).

I even took out the windshield washer bottle to get more hand room on the driver side. I was getting all mad because it would not unlock, so I went and got a hammer and a really long screwdriver to bang it to the unlock position. I decided to try it once more without using a hammer, and it came unlocked. I guess my lude can tell when I want it to cooperate.
So you guys think H.I.D.'s are "ricey"? I kinda like the blue color. They come factory in most High-end sports cars and luxury cars, so I wouldn't call them "ricey."

It's not HID's that we think are ricey, it's the "I'm going to get the bluest bulbs possible to make it look like I have HID's" attitude that all the ricers carry. Fake HID bulbs are g'ay.
One of my bulbs just burned out last night, so I decided to replace all of them with some Phillips Blue Vision that I had bought a long time ago. They aren't blue at all btw.
I completely know what you mean about those lock rings being a major PITA! I took the windshield washer tower out on the drivers side and the radiator overflow on the other side just to get some leverage and I was still swearing at those stupid things. Not to mention the 2P connectors that were stuck on. I eventually got Mr. Screwdriver to help me pry everything apart.

Mr. Screwdriver pryed apart the connectors on mine as well. I had never changed the bulbs on my car, so I dont know the last time those connectors were seperated. But they were on there like glue. I will try and take some pics of what the light output looks like tonight.

What's the difference between the two?

Yes I have the Catz zeta system on my car. Remember it is not a true HID system. Think of it more of an amplifier for your bulbs. I have some xenon bulbs with the zeta system and they are much brighter/whiter than stock.
Keep an eye out, you can find those kits cheaper than $250.
i got some bulbs from pepboys and they sucked... they were really yellow but they said they were cool blue or hyper white something like that, if i remember correctly they were sylvania also. they had a yellowish tint to them.
has anyone here seen how those new Slyvania Silverstar bulbs look? apparently they are brighter than the 'cool blue' bulb but i've never seen an illuminated one.
