bogging badly at 3900rpm

Hi,

I've searched the current threads and views and cant seem to find abyone with the same problem as me. It's a '93 jap 2.2 si, and hasn't been right since it blew it's distributor. I've had new distributor, splitfire leads, NGK plugs, cat, and tpc sensor in the cat. It drives absolutely fine anywhere up to 3900rpm, regardless of gear. Then, you hit an acceleration wall, it struggles past it and then accelerates again, note; nowhere near a squickly as it should. It seemingly revs past 4000 in 1st and 2nd fine but the other gears it feels like it's stopping. Almost forgot, timing has been checked too.

Any help would be well received, it's killing me having my machine pootling about with no guts.

One close thread was due to the warmth of the car but this is all of the time.

thanks

update

so, it's throwing code 14, not a great deal of info on this forum about that. EAVC. I have stumbled across another site that suggests cleaning the butterfly valve in the throttle body, then checking the wiring back all the way through to the ecu. Strangely enough I reset the ecu after this and it's already driving better, not 100% but better, just fluttering during acceleration
