Body kits, old bumpers

Â*Â*Body kits, old bumpers
On my 4th gen lude both front and rear bumpers are banged up. I was just going to get a combat kit. But after seeing how clean they can look with just simple add on lips. I don't know what to do. Also on the rear of the combat kit it has a second place for a license plate (also the one on the trunk) and I don't know if I like it. If i just went with some lip spoilers. It would probably be a CF spoon replica or something. or the erebuni kit #150 .

opinions????
also anyone with old OE bumpers for sale especially rear? around Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska area??

why not just get the whole bumper instead of just a lousy lip... Yes indeed it looks nice and CLEaN with simply just a lip but since your bumpers are banged up you have to do some major painting on the lips and bumper... why not just get a whole new bumper and paint that.....

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I am doing a complete color change, molding the side skirts, molding a 3 piece spoiler, possibly scissor doors (maybe (I wish)), and a custom painted interior. I am doing all the work myself so it doesn't matter as far as cost. But just wondering opinions on how to go custom but still clean.

p.s. my interior is not going to be a cheap dye job. I am snading smooth all the plastic and ripping of the vinyl on the doors and dash and painting just like the outside of the car. Oh yeah the color is a dark, blue with purple pearl, blue pearl, and white pearl. So it changes from bright blue to dark to purple. Custom color mixed by me. So I know it will be one of a kind. Also thinking of some kind of stripe down the side in bright red pearl. (going to be doing other little things in red).

Thanks

Its always cool to see another DIY bodyman. I suggest getting all new bumpers if you're going for show. I would especially recomend it for the back and rear so you can mold the fiberglass. Bondo is only good if used in moderation. Im trying to leave the crap off my car as much as possible. I think clean full kits are the best way to stand out. Its really starting to look like a Wings west factory around here.

No i'm not a pro. I work at a NAPA store in a medium size town in Western Nebraska. Not many fixed up imports mostly rice. I've painted two cars now and numerous other panels and bugshields etc. for people. I did a custom paint job on my brothers focus and now I want to do all the work myself. At the NAPA store I work at (actully family owns) we have an awsome machinist. I have an idea of how to make a double hinge and he has the skills. But I don't now how much work it will be. Also I'm not going to use any bondo I have a few dents. I'm taking a class (3rd time) at the comunity college so I have access to all the expertise and tools I'm going to need. Also in our shop we have a paint booth so I will probably do all the painting there instead of being rushed at the college. My goal is to have it done in about a year and a half.
